Truck yard & gate security

The gate is the blind spot in your operation

You've spent years tuning what happens inside the four walls. The gate, where trucks, drivers, and cargo actually move, still runs on paper, radios, and whoever is in the booth. That's where cargo goes missing and errors get in.

The problem

You've optimized the warehouse, but you're still losing at the gate

A truck rolls up, a guard checks a clipboard, the barrier lifts. Every yard runs some version of that handshake, and it depends on paper, memory, and whoever is working the booth that shift. Get it wrong and the wrong trailer leaves with clean paperwork, or the right one sits at the wrong door for hours.

For twenty years the investment went inside the warehouse: WMS, automation, robotics. The yard got a guard shack. Now the walls are optimized and the yard is where the losses live, which is why operators are finally looking outside.

Cargo doesn't disappear from the racks. It leaves through the gate.

Theft, loss, and misdirected shipments trace back to a gate that trusted the wrong truck, the wrong driver, or the wrong paperwork.

Paper processes make errors, and errors compound.

Manual check-in means transposed trailer numbers, wrong doors, missed seals. One mistake at the gate ripples through the whole yard.

Two to six people manning the gate, around the clock.

That's real headcount on every shift, and it still can't verify every credential, seal, and appointment. People get tired. Well-designed systems don't.

The checklist

What securing the gate takes

A camera and a guard don't fix this. Securing the gate means securing how it works.

Identity

Verified identity

Drivers, carriers, and appointments checked against real data at arrival, not a clipboard and a wave-through.

Accuracy

Transaction accuracy

Right trailer, right door, right paperwork, captured and recorded every time. The best automated gates measure 99.2% in live traffic.

Labor

Automated coverage

The gate runs around the clock without two to six people staffing it every shift.

Visibility

Shared visibility

Gate, yard, and warehouse see the same live picture, connected to the systems you already run.

The capability

What we bring to your gate

When the review says automate, this is the capability we deploy. Not a camera package or a guard-shack replacement. A verification layer that reads every truck, checks it against the systems you already run, and keeps a photographic record of everything it decides.

Every truck verified, automatically

AI-directed cameras read the plate, carrier, trailer, and seal, check them against your appointment data, and open the gate on a clean match. About 25 seconds, versus two and a half minutes by hand.

A photograph behind every record

Every gate event produces a structured record, and every field is stored with the image that produced it. Disputes get resolved from the record instead of absorbed.

Cold chain checked at the door

The gate reads reefer set point, actual temperature, and fuel level, and validates them against what the load requires. One deployment catches 99.9% of temperature excursions.

Runs unmanned. Escalates what matters.

Roughly 93% of movements release with no human involvement. Exceptions hold the gate and alert a supervisor, who reviews the imagery from a screen.

Built on what you already have

Existing gates get activated, not replaced, and the layer integrates both ways with your YMS, TMS, or WMS. Processing runs on site, so footage never leaves your network.

The gate is the beachhead

New inspection tasks deploy as software, not new cameras, and the same architecture extends to dock doors, handling stations, and cold storage. Everything after the first gate gets cheaper.

Why Prism

Why bring this to Prism

We don't make gate technology. We've run operations, so we tell you where your gate is exposed, hold any option against what securing it takes, and say when something's wrong for you. When it's right for you, we bring the capability and fit it to your operation, from site survey through validation against your own traffic.

Fit

Who this is for

Worth your time if you

  • Run a distribution center, manufacturing plant, cold storage facility, or any operation with a truck yard.
  • Carry security, accuracy, or gate labor on your desk.
  • Want the gate reviewed before you commit to technology.

Not yet if you

  • Move a few trucks a day through the gate.
  • Want only guards and cameras, with no verification in the loop.
  • Want a clean bill of health for a decision already made.

FAQs

Why target the gate?

It decides what enters and leaves your operation and under whose name, and in most yards it's the least instrumented point on the property.

We already have guards and cameras. Isn't that enough?

Guards verify that a truck is present. They can't verify that the appointment is real, the trailer number matches, or the paperwork is clean, especially at volume, on the night shift, in the rain.

What information does your gate solution capture at the gate?

Every arrival is read, verified, and stored with the imagery that produced it:

  • Chassis #
  • License plate
  • Tractor #
  • Driver identification
  • Pick up #
  • Container #
  • Container license plate #
  • Damage to container
  • Seal intact
We are cutting headcount and speeding up turns. Does securing the gate fight that?

No. Done right, it's the same project. A gate that verifies automatically is faster and leaner than one staffed around the clock, and harder to fool.

Will this work with the systems we already run?

That's exactly the question to ask, and the reason to look before you buy. Gate technology has to connect to your YMS, WMS, and appointment systems, or it just creates another silo. We evaluate options against what you already run.

Do you sell a gate system?

We don't make one, and that's the point. We know the technologies, and we tell you when one doesn't fit. We're the team that comes in to integrate the technology you do need, and makes sure your site go-live is successful.
